Martin O’Connor was the first recognized accountant in Australia to specialize in the horse industry. He studied the tax act as it related to horses and in 1987 he joined Arthur Young, now Ernst & Young, as a tax partner specializing in the horse industry.
With the downturn in the property and thoroughbred market in 1991, Martin re-launched as a sole practitioner offering lower fees and more personalised service than is available in the larger firms.
In 2000 the firm expanded our service offering to clients and became licensed to provide financial advice. Whilst we investigated obtaining our own dealers license, it was decided to form a relationship with Lonsdale Financial Group Limited, a subsidiary of the listed company DKN Financial Group Limited in order to be able to provide clients with the level of support and opportunities that they deserve.
